Bio

Herald Coaster, January 17, 1972: Funeral services were held at 9:30 this morning for Annie Matej, 65, a Wallis resident who died Saturday in a Wharton hospital after a lengthy illness. Rev. Tom Hanus and Rev. Faltyn officiated at the service held at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sons, James of Rosenberg and Syl of Wallis; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Bucek of Rosenberg; two brothers, Peter Kucera of East Bernard and Paul of El Campo; a sister, Mrs. Lois Poetzcher of St. Louis, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren. Knesek Funeral Home was in charge.
