Bio
Jewel Marie Michum, 88, of Waco, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2012 at a local nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 16, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Henry officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, at Bellmead Funeral Home. Jewel was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Jessie Lee Sr. and Clara (Merilian) Davis. She was employed at R.M. Crow Manufacturing for 23 years and loved working in her yard and tending to her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Michum, in 1988; a son-in-law, Marshal McFee; a grandson, Jeffrey Don Cockrell; four sisters; and a brother. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann McFee, of Waco; sons, Tommy Cockrell Sr. and wife, Janice, of Battle, Richard Cockrell Sr. and wife, Darlene, of Speegleville, and Rudy Michum and wife, Connie, of Waco; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Audry Williams, of Elm Mott, and Evelyn Graves, of Waco; brother, Jerry Davis and wife, Rhoda, of Hemphill; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
