Bio

Kenneth Keller Joiner, 73, of 2507 214th St. North, Port Byron, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at home. Private services were held Wednesday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Pathway Hospice. He was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Anna, Ill., to Samuel and Elizabeth Keller Joiner. He married Kathryn Ann Appel in 1946 in Missouri. She died in 1960. He married Elsie Carstenson in 1989 in Davenport. She died in 1993. He was a meat cutter for Geifman Grocery stores in the Quad-Cities. He was a WWII Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Larry Chapman, Hillsdale; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchild; and a brother, Samuel D. Joiner, Englewood, Tenn. Sister Ruth George preceded him in death. (Rock Island Argus, Sep. 10, 1998)
