Bio
James John Tesina was born near Bee, Nebraska on March 31, 1940 to Emil Edward and Rose Mildred (Belsan) Tesina and passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at his home in Dwight, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 8 days. He graduated from Dwight Assumption High School in May of 1958. Jim enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on August 28, 1958, and was honorably discharged on August 28, 1961. He married JoAnn M. Makovicka on December 28, 1961 at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. Following their marriage he attended the University of Nebraska for a year. They moved to the Sandhills of Nebraska where he worked on two ranches before moving back to Bee when they purchased the farm. At that time Jim also began working for the Postal Service as a clerk and retired from the Post Office in March of 2003 after 30 years of service. Jim enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, feeding and watching birds and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Family was very important to him. Jim was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, American Legion Post #110, a member of Dwight Town Board, American Polled Hereford Association and former member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Bee. He is preceded in death by his father, Emil Sr.; brother, Emil Jr.; sister, Jeanette "Jan" Semin; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Ann Makovicka; sister-in-law Marlene Debus; and nephew Michael Makovicka. Those left to cherish and love his memory are his wife, JoAnn M. Tesina, Dwight; children, Kimberly A. Cochran, Seward, Linda M. and Steven Leichner, Garland, Kenneth J. Tesina and significant other, Bettina M. Runge, Bee; grandchildren, Ashley Cochran and fiancé Jason Kilker, Jessica Cochran, Benjamin Cochran, Savannah Tesina, Talon Tesina, Samuel Leichner; mother, Rose M. Tesina, Dwight; sister, Rosmarie Tesina and Dennis Mehrhoff, Lincoln; extended family, Al Semin, Pauline Tesina, Valerian and Janice Makovicka, John and Connie Makovicka, Gene Debus, Judith Makovicka and Kevin McGrath; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
