Funeral services for Elma Christine McAree, 89, Alba, were held on January 4, 2012 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel, Alba, with Brother Byron Howard and Mike Decker officiating. Burial was at Smyrna Union Cemetery, Emory. She passed away on January 1, 2012. She was born June 10, 1922, in Van Zandt County to the late Elmer and Vannie Leota Smith Decker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, J.W. Byrum and R.V. McAree; and brothers, Jessie Decker and Zollie D. Brown. Survivors include her brother, Scott Decker, Point; sisters, Margie Harvey, Emory, Edith Doudney, Anna, Lillian Hukill, Lindale, and Ann Staggs, Balch Springs; four nieces; eight nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
