Funeral services for Beatrice Hattie Stokes, 77, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, February 10, 2012, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell with Rev. James Phillip Orosco officiating. Interment will follow at Dresden Cemetery near Blooming Grove under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point. She passed away early Wednesday morning, February 8, 2012, in Tyler. Beatrice was born September 1, 1934, in Tours, Texas, the daughter of William Weinberger and Magdalena Stratton Weinberger. She was raised in Dallas and graduated from St. Edwards High School in 1952. On July 2, 1953, she married Frankie Joe Stokes, in Dallas. Beatrice was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and being with her grandchildren. She lived in Dallas prior to moving to Wills Point in 1968. Beatrice was an active member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell until her health failed. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Stokes on February 5, 1985; sister, Agnes Calvert and step-mother, Matilda Weinberger. Beatrice is survived by two sons, David Stokes & wife, Holly, of Wills Point and Terry Stokes & wife, Sarah, of Wills Point; daughter, Teresa Slaton & husband, Steve, of Ben Wheeler; brother, Herbert Weinberger & wife, Martha, of Pittsburg; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
