Bio

Herb Weinberger, age 78, of Pittsburg passed away Saturday, April 18 in Winnsboro. Herb was born August 28, 1936 in LeRoy, Texas to William and Magdaline Straton Weinberger. He attended secretarial school in Dallas, while there he met the love of his life, Martha Narramore, whom he married May 24, 1963. Together they raised three children; Mark, Pam, and Wendy. Herb was a quiet man, who loved his family dearly. He particularly enjoyed Crappie and Bass, and going to his son Mark's baseball games. Herb worked for the railroad for 10 years, and then went to work for the United States Postal Service, from which he retired. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Narramore Weinberger, of Pittsburg, son Mark Weinberger, of Pittsburg, daughter Pam Meredith, of Wilburn, Arkansas, and daughter Wendy Reeves, also of Pittsburg. Herb also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Shadd Meredith, Ashley Verser, Amber Meredith, Savannah Reeves, and Trevor Reeves and 4 great grandchildren; Ethan Meredith, Brandy Meredith, Wyatt Verser, and Sophie Verser. He was preceded in death by his father, William Weinberger, mother Madaline Straton Weinberger, step-mother Matilda Weinberger, son-in-law Bobby Meredith, 3 uncles, and 2 sisters. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, April 23 at Ebenezer Friendship Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Pastor Mike Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.
