Richard W. Otterstein COZAD — Richard W. Otterstein, 84, of Cozad died Nov. 13, 2003, at Cozad. He was born April 7, 1919, at Murdock to Richard F. and Mary Bulin Otterstein. He attended school at Plattsmouth and later moved to Grant. On Nov. 20, 1944, he married Esther Borowski at Grant. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his discharge, he worked on farms in the Grant-Ogallala area. In 1948, they moved to a farm site at Eustis. In 1951, they moved to a farm near Cozad and in 1970, the couple moved to Cozad where he was employed at Monroe Auto Equipment Company, until his retirement. Mr. Otterstein was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Esther of Cozad; a daughter, Marlene (Paul) Harding of Aurora; a son, Larry (Ginny) of Laramie, Wyo.; a sister, Wilma DeFord of Ogallala; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don; and a half-brother, Gerald. A memorial has been established. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cozad with the Rev. Don O'Brien celebrant. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
