Bio
Kenneth Luther Craven, 82, of Grand Island, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Golden Living Center Park Place. Kenneth was born April 7, 1929, in Custer County near Litchfield, the son of William "Bill" H. and Asenath K. (McAlevy) Craven. Kenneth was the second of seven children. He married Edna Lee Tucker on July 4, 1959, at the Presbyterian Chapel in Grand Island with the Rev. John Shell officiating. Kenneth worked for Rockwell in Kearney until they closed. He worked as a mechanic and worked in law enforcement in Sherman County and Loup City. Kenneth was in the second class that qualified through the Grand Island Law Enforcement Training Center. In his retirement years, Kenneth loved to work on lawn mowers and small motors. He could make almost anything work. Survivors are: wife, Edna Craven; sister, Patty Dangler of Norfolk; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald W. and Donna Craven of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Larry W. and Gloria Craven of Grand Island. Kenneth was preceded in death by: parents; sisters, Wilma K. Howard, Sally Beason and Asenath "Senie" Mills; and brother-in-law, Leland Dangler. Graveside service were at the Litchfield Cemetery, Litchfield, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on February 6, 2012
