Bio

Born in Shelby County, Texas to Nettie Mae and Edward C. Holt. On October 16, 1940 Grady registered for the World War II Draft while employed by Condie January as a truck driver/salesman in the retail grocery business. Fifteen days later he enlisted in the in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas and was assigned to the Puerto Rico Detachment of Barksdale Field, Louisiana. Honorably discharged September 9, 1945, seven days following the end of World War II. Married Miss Billie Joyce Bright in Shelby County in March 1947 and they were married for 52 years. Grady passed at the age of 83 and is buried in Oaklawn memorial Park, Center, Shelby County, Texas. Billie joined him in 2020. Day is done, God is nigh.
