Bio
Fred F. Samek, age 86 of David City, died Friday February 3, 2012 at David Place in David City. Fred was born to Adolph and Antonia (Svoboda) Samek on May 22, 1925 on the family farm near Appleton. Fred was a lifetime farmer and resident of Butler County. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church at Appleton and Knights of Columbus Council #1717 of David City. Survivors are: brother-in-law: John Rerucha; and several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill and Tony Samek; sisters Marie Jirovsky, Martha Piitz, Anna Rerucha, Rose Kozisek and sister in law Rose Samek. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday February 7, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Bernard Kimminau as celebrant. Interment will follow at Appleton Catholic Cemetery.
