Bio

William D. Kingston Rites January 8th William Delivan Kingston, the son of John Willard and Mary Ellen Kingston, was born November 10, 1880, in York county, Nebraska. With the exception of one year all of his early life was lived there. In March of 1918 he, with his family, moved to a farm near Arcadia in Valley county, Nebraska. It was on this same farm that he lived until the time of his departure from the earthly life on January 3, 1954. In 1911 Mr. Kingston was united in marriage to Lynda O. Kaliff. To this union were born four sons; Frank Morris, who is now serving his country in Korea; Delivan Russell of Arcadia; Orin William of Arcadia; and an infant son who died at birth. William outlived the rest of his parents' family. His parents, his sister, Mrs. Frank Merchant, his two brothers, A.J. and Jess Kingston, and his three half brothers, Mr. R. C., Mr. L.P., and Mr. Thomas Beal Kingston and a half sister, Florence, have already preceded him to that land that is fairer than day. Mr. Kingston lived a rich life for besides being a devoted husband and father, he in his quiet way took an active part in the religious and civic life of his community. For many years he was an active member of the Board of Trustees of the Arcadia Methodist church. For 34 years he served on the school board of his district. In addition, he was a faithful and active member of the Masonic Gauge Lodge No. 208 of Arcadia. Left to grieve his departure are is wife, Lynda, his three sons, Morris, Delivan, and Orin, his two grandchildren, Linda Ann and Duane Lee Kingston, and a great host of relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Kingston were held in the Arcadia Methodist church January 8th. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Loup City, Nebraska, with graveside services by Gauge Lodge No. 208, A.F.&A.M., Arcadia, Nebraska. The Arcadia Guide (Arcadia, NE) - Thur, Jan 21 1954, Pg 1, Col 3
