Bio

Henry was born to Robert Jay and Cora Byrd Carmack. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1953 he married Eva Nell Bennett in Brownwood Texas. Eva passed away 1997. Henry was a Baptist. He worked in the cabinet business and was known for the quality of work he did. I worked with Henry at the Riverside Trailer Manufacturing Company for a few years. After that Henry and Eva Nell moved to Ft Smith, Arkansas where he delivered the U.S. mail. He worked at the 3-M Plant in Brownwood for 28 years until his retirement. Henry loved to laugh and have fun. He was a prankster, and it was always good clean fun. He is survived by his two sons, Robert Franklin Carmack and wife of Georgia, Rodney James Carmack and wife Gladys of Brownwood, two daughters, Katrina Mardell Carmack Herridge of Seagoville, Texas and Amberlie Alvarez of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Norman Carmack of Austin, Texas, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and three great-grandchildran. I have known Henry for more than 55 years. It was always a joy to get to spend time with Henry. He always had good things to say about everyone, and he was always laughing and pulling some kind of joke. I remember the time we went to San Angelo to do some work. We stayed there for about two weeks and never got much work done but we did have a lot of fun. I remember the time when Henry was working on a dam project for one of the lakes in San Angelo and he was driving a machine that would pack down the dirt. It hit some loose dirt and overturned on top of Henry. He was in the hospital a long time. I went to see him, and he was still laughing. That was just Henry. He and I contracted some homes to paint and fix up in Brownwood. We had fun doing that and Eva Nell would bring us food. She was the light of Henry's life. After she passed away Henry's world seemed to come crashing down. Every time I got to see him after her passing, he would always talk about her. I know that all of his family and friends will miss Henry. He was loved by everyone. Biography by Johnny Egger
