DEATH: GEORGE E. CLARK JR. George Ernest Clark, Jr., 81, passed away July 9, 1990 at an area rest home. He was born Feb. 7, 1909 in Alpine, Utah to George Ernest Clark and Belle Wilkin. Following high school, he attended the Univ. of Utah before serving in the British Mission for the LDS Church. He married Melda Christensen July 31, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. He spent 30 years in a career with the U.S. Government as a topographic draftsman for the Bureau of Reclamation. He served in two Bishoprics and a High Council plus numerous other LDS Church callings including regular temple assignments. He was firm in his commitment to the Lord's kingdom. He is survived by his sons: David, Huntsville, AL; Stephen, Sandy; daughters, Kristin, Fremont, CA; and Barbara, Sacramento, CA. Another daughter, Leslie, predeceased him by 14 years. Also surviving are 14 grandchldren and 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 12, 1990, 12 noon, at the Rose Park North Stake Center, South Chapel, 1155 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City. Interment will follow at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 East, Sandy. Funeral directors, Larkin Mortuary.
