Bio

Mrs. Belle W. Clark Obituary Alpine, Utah — Funeral services for Mrs. Belle W. Clark, 66, wife of G. Ernest Clark of Alpine, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Alpine LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Reid Burgess in charge. Friends may call at the family home in Alpine Wednesday evening and Thursday until time of services. Burial will be in Alpine Cemetery. Mrs. Clark died Sunday night as a result of a freak accident near the Point of the Mountain (where Utah and Salt Lake Counties met). She and Mrs. Clark were passengers in a car driven by their son, Vern W. Clark, which struck a pig and swerved off the road. The pig was one of two blue ribbon animals which had tumbled from a truck driven by County Commissioner Sterling B. Jones. It was not known immediately whether Mrs. Clark died of a heart attack brought on by the crash or of injuries. The car remained upright after the crash. Mrs. Clark, an active church and civic worker, is survived by her husband, 11 children: Lloyd G. Clark, Glade F. Clark, Mrs. Lloyd H. (Mildred) Bair and Mrs. Marion (Norma) Healey, all of Alpine. George E. Clark, Jr., Rock Springs, Wyo.; Vern W. Clark, U. S. Army, now on leave; Mrs. Leon J. (Thurza) Strong; Mrs. Marvin S. (Dorothy) Stevens and Mrs. George (Fern) White, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Carroll, Crescent, Utah; and Mrs. Kenneth (Lucille) Roberts, Preston, Idaho. Four brothers and sisters: Mrs. Jeanette Brown, Provo; Richard G. Wilkin, Magna, Utah; J. Alton Wilkins, Lehi, and Mrs. Pearl W. Street, Alpine; 27 grand children and 3 great grandchildren.
