Bio

"Don't waste your precious now worrying about yesterday or tomorrow." On Sunday morning November 9th, our beautiful mother, wife, grandma, sister, aunt and friend passed away following a brief illness. She was the oldest of six children born to Ira and Vivian Wells on June 30, 1928, in Victor, UT. At age 9 her family moved to Wellington, UT where she made her home for the next 20 years. It was there that she met and fell in love with Robert Cecil Van Wagoner and they were married in the Manti Temple on June 23, 1948. They became the proud parents of six children. In 1960 they moved their family to Taylorsville, UT where they lived until they were called to serve an LDS Mission to Kirtland, OH, in 1994. Ruth had the ability to find happiness even in the most trying of times. She was a person who loved the Lord and kept his commandments faithfully throughout her life. She was a loving wife and outstanding mother who taught her children the value of work and the truthfulness of the gospel. She loved to dance and sing and enjoyed many precious moments with her family. She was an accomplished seamstress and an avid gardener. She had a passion for genealogy work because she was blessed with the ability to remember names and places. She was a woman who knew the true meaning of forgiveness. Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Gayleen, Deb (Bill) Dalbey, Robyn Koenig, Brent (Debbie), Wells (Eileen), Mari (Bret) Pearce; brothers, Delwin, Vard Wells; sister, Gwenda Arnold; 23 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the nursing staff at Heritage Park, Applegate Hospice and Paula Smith for their help in making her last days comfortable. Funeral will be Wed. 12 noon at the Taylorsville 16th Ward, 3495 W. 4850 S. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd, and Wed. at the church, 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) Date: November 11, 2003 Edition: Final Page: C11
