On September 29, 2010, "Bob" Van Wagoner passed through the veil after a lingering illness. He was born May 13, 1930 in Standardville, UT to Elden and Sarah Jane Pinegar Van Wagoner. He married Ruth Wells in 1948 and together they had six children. In 1994, they served a mission in Kirtland, OH. He worked at Kaiser Mine in Sunnsyside, UT until moving to Salt Lake in 1960, where he obtained his own electrical license. He worked as an independent electrical contractor until 1969 when he was hired as Chief Electrical Inspector for Salt Lake County. In 1975, he also began teaching the Electrical Apprentice Classes at the Salt Lake Community College. He held many church positions including Bishop of the Wellington Second Ward from 1958-1960. Bob and Ruth taught their children to love the gospel and the value of hard work. He had a great love for music and dancing which he passed along to his children and grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was having family sing-a-longs. Following Ruth's death in 2003, Bob married Dona Hoskin and became Dad and grandpa to an additional six children, twenty-thre grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren whom he loved, and they loved him. Survived by his wife Dona; brother, Fred (Christy); sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Colleen Van Wagoner; children: Gayleen, Deb (Bill) Dalbey, Robyn Koenig, Brent (Debbie), Wells (Eileen), Mari (Bret) Pearce; twenty-two grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; step-children: Rick (Cami) Hoskin, Rhonda (Mark) Barnes, Rachelle, Ranae (Rick) Fischer, Robyn (Chris) Keller, RaDawn (Mark) Kearney; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Also preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in the Valley Park Sixth Ward Chapel, 5233 South 3200 West, Taylorsville. Friends may call on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), and Monday at the Church from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
