Son of Jonathan P. and Josie Callendar Laubach Husband of Ethel Bray OBITUARY: The Morning Press, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, December 27, 1967 J. Paul Laubach, sixty-four, Third street, Benton, died Sunday at 8:05 p.m. in Geisinger Medical Center where he had been a patient for eleven days. Death came after an illness of six years during which he was hospitalized many times. He was born at Fairmount Springs, son of the late Jonathan P. and Josie Callendar Laubach and had lived in Benton for the past fifty years. He was a graduate of Benton High School in 1921 and Pennsylvania State University in 1929. He was president of Laubach Equipment Company, Benton, and also operated an International Truck agency in Benton for many years. He had served on Benton borough council for twenty-five years and was president of the council at the time of his death. A member of the Methodist Church of Benton, he was a former trustee of the church; a member of Benton Lodge No 667 F and A.M., and had served as Worshipful Master in 1933; Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg; Irem Temple Shrine, Wilkes-Barre, BPO Elks 436, Bloomsburg; Benton Volunteer Fire Company; a former director of Columbia County Farmers National Bank, Benton, former member of executive committee of Columbia County Republican Committee. He and his wife, the former Ethel Bray, celebrated their forty-third wedding anniversary in July 1967; also surviving are three children, John P., Phila.; Janet, wife of Roland Bouver, Shiremanstown; James E., Reistertown, Md.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Edward, Wynnewood; Emerson, Shamokin Dam. Funeral services will be held today at two p.m. from the Dean W. Kriner Funeral Home, Benton, with Rev. John B. Bergstrom, Benton Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Benton cemetery.
