First husband of Josie Callender, then Edith Profitt Son of David K. and Lola Pennington Laubach OBITUARY: The Morning Press, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, December 15, 1959 Jonathan P. Laubach, eighty-three, Third street, Benton, died last evening at seven-fifty-three at Bloomsburg Hospital. He had been a patient since December 5. Born November 17, 1876 at Fairmount Springs, he was the son of the late David K. and Lola Pennington Laubach. He spent his early life in Fairmount Springs. His first wife, the former Josie Callender, died in 1934. In 1936 he married Edith Profitt, who survives him. Mr. Laubach was the first rural mail carrier from Fairmount Springs. He carried for fifteen years before moving to Benton in 1918. He operated a garage in Benton and had the Ford agency from 1919 to 1931. In 1931 he gave up the Ford agency and received the International Truck dealership which his son, J. Paul Laubach, still operates. He was a member of the Benton Methodist Church, the Benton Grange and a charter member of Benton Lodge No, 667, Benton F. and A.M. He was a fifty-year Masonic member, having been a member of the Shickshinny lodge before the Benton lodge was chartered. He was also a member of Caldwell Consistory and Irem Temple. He had been superintendent of the Sunday School at Benton and Fairmount Springs for a total of more than thirty years. Besides his wife, surviving are three sons, J. Paul, Benton; Edward, Wynnewood; and Emerson, Shamokin Dam; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lee Harrison.
