Bio

Joseph F. Paseka, 90, died Oct. 13, 1987 at Memorial Hospital in Dodge County. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Paseka was born Jan. 23, 1897 in Czechoslovakia. He came to the United States at the age of 7. His family homesteaded near Wood, SD, and later moved to the Prague area. He farmed 51 years in the Morse Bluff and Cedar Bluffs areas. He retired in 1975 and moved to Colon. Mr. Paseka married Agnes A Virka May 16, 1923, at St. John's Catholic Church in Prague. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Bernard of North Bend, Emil of Mead and Ronald of Sacramento, CA; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Irene) Stewart of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Agnes McKonnel of Irwin, IA. The Rev. Hugh Schwartz wil officiate Saturday's service. Visitation is until 8 tonight, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and prior to the funeral service Saturday, all at the funeral home; the family will recieve friends there from 6 to 8 tonight. Burial will be in the Killian Cemetery, Morse Bluff. A memorial has been established to the Killiam Cemetery Fund.
