Alice Timm, 98, of Miller, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center of Miller. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10 at the United Methodist Church in Miller with Rev. Mary Ann Sheldon officiating. Inurnment will be at the Alpena Cemetery at a later date. Alice Lillie was born November 24, 1913 at Vivian, SD in Lyman County to Daniel and Alice (Bruyn) Lillie. On April 21st 1930 she married Cecil O. Smith at Mitchell SD. They lived in the Artesian area and in Mitchell for several years. In 1945 they moved to a farm south of Alpena. They had two daughters, Gerri and Elaine. Alice's husband passed away in 1957. She moved to Huron in 1958 and worked as a waitress at the Marvin Hughitt coffee shop and the Chef Café In 1971 she married Henry Timm of Huron and they moved to Miller in 1978. Henry passed away in November of 1988. Survivors include a grandson she raised, Dennis L. Lyftogt of Tennessee; 2 step children, Donna (John) Roehr of Peoria, Illinois and Ronald Timm of Illinois; 11 grandchildren and spouses; 4 step grandchildren; 24great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; 3 great-great-great grandchildren; son-in-law Keith Speirs of Miller; sister-in-law Marion Smith of St. James, Minnesota; and any nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 2 daughters Gerri Speirs and Elaine Norton, 2 grandsons, 1 infant great granddaughter, 5 sisters and 5 brothers. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials to be directed to the Good Samaritan Society of Miller. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ L.
