Eaditha "Eady" Shirley Wright was the daughter of John Shirley and Elizabeth "Rebecca" Barmore. She was born in 1773 at Shirley Town which was a settlement on a Branch of the Saluda River called Raburn Creek and which is now in Laurens County, South Carolina. She married George Wright 28 July 1794 Laurens County, South Carolina. He was the son of George Wright III and Sarah Bowman. George died 1803 in Laurens County, South Carolina. Eaditha Wright, widow of George Wright, was listed as an heir of Rebecca Shirley who died in Laurens County, South Carolina, intestate, May 2, 1825. Eaditha relocated to Fayette County, Georgia with her sons, Abraham, Absalon, George Bowman, John and daughter, Rebekah in about 1827. She is listed in the 1830 census of Meriwether County and as a land owner in 1831. Although no other records have been found for Eaditha, she is believed to have died sometime after 1831 and to have been buried in the Wright family plot at the Flat Rock Church Cemetery in Meriwether County, Georgia, near her son, Abraham and grandsons, George W. and Abraham B.
