Sarah R. Ballard 96, formerly of Waverly, Oh more recently of Peebles, OH died 7:58 a.m. Wednesday 4 January 2012 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Peebles, OH. She was born 12 December 1915 in Standish, MI the daughter of the late Sidney L. Curtis and Jessie A (Ewry) Curtis. On 19 June 1933 Sarah was united in marriage to Virgil A. Ballard who preceded her in death on 12 April 1987. Surviving are three daughters, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, four sons, William, Donald, Richard and John Ballard, two brothers, Frank and Oliver Curtis and 2 sisters, Helen Gregory and Nell Smith preceded Sarah in death. Sarah was a 45-year member of the Union Hill Church, Peebles, OH and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday 8 January at the Union Hill Church with Rev. Phil Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt Zion Cemetery, Poplar Grove, OH. Friends may call at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME 5 - 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at the Church on Sunday. Boyer January 2012 ***********************
