Bio

Jimmy D. Burleson, 75, passed away at his home on Monday, December 12, 2011. Jimmy was born on May 26, 1936 to Claude and Essie (Sallis) Burleson in Little Rock, Arkansas. He grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1954. On June 26, 1970 he married Alice Holy Toupal and they made their home originally in Dallas and then to Carrolton. He served his country proudly in the United State Army with the Military Police from 1961-1966. He was a Federal Marshall for the United States Department of Justice for twelve years. He was a member of the St. Catherine Church in Carrollton and the KJT of Ennis for thirty-eight years. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Alice Burleson; one daughter: Donna and her husband, Ray Thompson; two sons: Terry Toupal and his wife, Karen and Frank Toupal and his wife, Becky; one grandson; Craig Warren; one great-grandson; Peyton Warren; three brothers: Sonny Burleson, Joe Burleson and David Burleson; two sisters: Lena Scott and Louise Snead and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Essie Burleson; two brothers: Romey Burleson and Richard Burleson. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick serving as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Craig Warren, Rick Burleson, Ronald Snead, Frank Toupal, Mark Burleson and Terry Toupal. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E.
