Mary Jane Blazek Hubacek Smith, 92, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, in Longview, Texas. Mary was born in Mineola, Texas, on December 16, 1919 to John and Aloisia (Kubecek) Blazek. When she was about seven her family moved to Pilot Point, Texas, Then at some point later they settled in Ennis, Texas. She married John Hubacek in November of 1939. They farmed for a living for several years. After they stopped farming Mary started working at Metzer Dairy in Dallas, as a lab technician. She worked there for about four years and then went to Oak Farms where she worked for fifteen years until her retirement. She married David Smith in 1979 and lived in Dallas until his death in 1997. She moved to Big Sandy, Texas in 1998. She is survived by five sons: Elick Hubacek and his wife, Lola of Big Sandy, Alvin Hubacek of Hutchins, George Hubacek and his wife, Glenda of Big Sandy, Anthony Hubacek and his wife Vickie of Mt. Enterprise, Johnny Hubacek and his wife, Debbie of Dallas; fourteen grandchildren: twenty great-grandchildren: three great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E.
