Bio

KETTERMAN (born Bertha Mary) Sister Miriam Joseph Ketterman, age 83, a Sister of Divine Providence, entered eternal life on January 13, 2010. She was born in Westphalia, Texas on January 24, 1926 and became a Sister of Divine Providence at 21 years of age. Sister Miriam began her ministerial life at St. Joseph School in Norman, Oklahoma in 1947. Devoting her ministry to education, she taught in various schools in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. Sister Miriam thoroughly enjoyed her ministry in elementary education and found happiness in every community she joined. After dedicating forty years to education ministry, Sister Miriam contributed twelve years of work in the Convent Finance Office. In 1999, Sister Miriam retired to Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center. Sister Miriam is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Rabroker Ketterman, a stillborn sister, and her brother Lawrence Ketterman. She is survived by brothers Ervin, Raymond, and Robert all of Temple, Texas, brother, Alois of Westphalia, Texas; sister, Angeline Gerick of Temple, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Rosary is Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. and the Wake is at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. All services will be in Annunciation Chapel at Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center.
