Margaret Groteluschen, 75, of Creston, Nebraska, died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at 10:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh with Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Tuesday at 10:15 AM the church. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church or the Creston Rescue Unit. Margaret A. Groteluschen was born July 24, 1936, in Dodge, Nebraska, to Ted and Lillian (Cernin) Cech. She attended rural Colfax County grade schools and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1954. Margaret worked at the Clarkson Grain Elevator and in Norfolk until her marriage to Norris Groteluschen on June 2, 1955, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh. Margaret loved being a farm wife, working beside Norris and raising her six children. Margaret volunteered her time at the church during Vacation Bible School and also at the church fair booth during the county fair. She enjoyed sewing, making pies, and doing ceramic painting. Margaret is survived by: Son – Duane (Dee) Groteluschen of Leigh, NE Son – Ron (Ronda) Groteluschen of Buffalo, WY Daughter – Charlene Svoboda of Columbus, NE Daughter – Lynelle (Duane) Byerly of Lincoln, NE Son – Jack (Leslie) Groteluschen of Creston, NE Grandchildren: Todd (Sara) Groteluschen, Tina (Shanon) Goering, Caleb Groteluschen, Lyndsay Groteluschen, Cameron Groteluschen, Leah Groteluschen, Jessica (Dustin) Hake, Jordan Svoboda, Melissa Byerly, Derek Byerly, Alexis Groteluschen, and Emma Groteluschen 7 Great Grandchildren Sister – Ione (Melvin) Horst of Norfolk, NE Brother – Elden (Ruth) Cech of Clarkson, NE Brother-in-law – Eldon Asche of Columbus, NE Margaret was preceded in death by: Parents – Theodore & Lillian Cech Husband – Norris Groteluschen Son – Michael Groteluschen Sister – Elaine Asche
