Mrs. Ralph (Rosalind) Haefele, died unexpectedly Friday, August 31, at Converse County Memorial Hospital following a short confinement. Rosalind was the daughter of Homer and Lena Dreier Fair. The eldest of ten children, Mrs. Haefele's seven sisters and two brothers survive her. She attended Cottage School at Broken Bow, Nebraska; and in 1922 graduated from Broken Bow High School, where she last year attended the 50-year reunion of her class. She married Ralph McKinley Haefele on April 8, 1924 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mrs. Haefele came with her husband to this area as a bride, to homestead north of Douglas. She had made her home in Douglas since 1969. Mr. Haefele preceded her in death in August 1967. She participated actively in a number of civic and community organizations. Mrs. Haefele is survived by three sons, Duane, Robert and Dale, all of Douglas; three daughters, Mrs. Harriet Smith of Whittier, California; Mrs. Frances Fitzhugh of Reno, Nevada and Mrs. Sharon Gill of Norwalk, Califoria. Survivors also include her brothers, L. O. (Jim) Fair, Broken Bow, Nebraska and Joseph W. (Bill) Fair, Spokane, Washington; and sisters, Mrs. Harry (Bonnie) Williams, Broken Bow, Nebraska; Mrs. Dorothy Kindler, Evanston, Wyoming; Mrs. Kenneth (Edna) Thompson, North Platte, Nebraska; Mrs. Jack (Vera) Blakeman, Merna, Nebraska; Mrs. Lloyd (Verda) Harris, Broken Bow, Nebraska; Mrs. Lucille McCraken, Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Mrs. Art (Betty Jean) Scully, Gering, Nebraska; also 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. A son, Harold, preceded her in death, September 5, 1940. Information was obtained from her obituary and cemetery records.
