Lucille "Lucy" McCracken, 91, of Alliance, formerly of Scottsbluff, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance. Her funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Pastor Steve Meysing officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Visitation is scheduled from 11 am until 7 pm on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Lucy was born January 21, 1919 in Broken Bow, NE to Homer and Lena Anna Sophia (Drier) Fair. She received her education and graduated from Broken Bow High School. She married Bill Larson and they had two sons, Danny and Swen. She later married Ralph McCracken and they had a daughter Marti. Lucy lived around Scottsbluff most of her life. She loved to work; as she was at one time or another the hostess, manager, cook, bartender and server at the Scottsbluff Country Club for over 43 years. She later moved to Alliance to be closer to her family there and retired at the age of 75. She worked hard all her life, never complained and was respected by the community. She loved to travel, play cards and dominos. She especially loved spending time with her loving family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She will be lovingly missed. She is survived by her sons Danny (Carol) Larson of Denver, CO, Swen (Sandi) Larson of Carnation, WA; daughter Marti (Jeff) Schleicher of Alliance, NE; grandchildren David (Stacey) Larson, Christy Spadi and friend Derick Finn, Clinton Larson, Amber (Brian) Hoke, Sara and Jared Schleicher; great grandchildren Zach and Alexis Spadi, Hailey and Hunter Hoke, Conner and Paige Larson; brother Joseph Willard Fair; sister Betty Jean Scully; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, brother Lawrence Fair, and sisters Vera Blakeman, Rosalind Haefele, Bonnie Williams, Dorothy Kindler, Edna Thompson, and Verda Harris preceded her in death.
