Bio

Alton E. Lulow, 90, died on Jan. 5, 2004 in Raton. He was born on Oct. 14, 1913, in Goshen County, Wyo., the son of the late Malter and Katharina (Wieting) Lulow. He was a longtime Raton resident and a member of the Repramation Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Ore. He was an avid gardener and could name each rose by their name. His joy in life was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers John, Carl and Lawrence Lulow; two sisters, Evelyn Seckel and Martha Gaffney. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Lulow of the family home in Raton; one daughter, Kathleen A. Harwood and husband Charles, Medford, Ore.; one son, Robert Lulow and wife Suzanne, Raton; sisters, Lucille Lewis and Patti Long both of Scappoos, Ore.; grandchildren, Brett Harwood and wife Joanna, Canyonville, Ore., Kimberly Scott and husband Randy, Kirkland, Wash., Kenneth Lulow, Mapelvalley, Wash., Kit Lulow, Tualatin, Ore., and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home. Rite of committal and interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Funeral arrangements for Alton E. Lulow are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
