Mina Ruth Pittman 1914 - 1999 Graveside service for Mina Ruth Pittman Boyd, 85, of Bridgeport were Dec. 28 in the Fulton Cemetery near Walnut Springs with the Rev. Marvin Moore officiating. Boyd died Dec. 25, 1999, in Decatur. She was born on Aug. 5, 1914, in Walnut Springs to John and Julia Jackson Pittman. She was raised and educated in Walnut Springs where she was a member of the Walnut Springs Memorial Methodist Church. She was married to Orren Harry Griffin and he preceded her in death. She later married Homer Boyd. She was a resident of Bridgeport for many years. Boyd is survived by one daughter, Doris Polnac and her husband Kenneth of Paradise; two sons, Wesley Griffin and his wife Temple of Hurst and Lesley Griffin and his wife Tommie of Arlington; four brothers, James Pittman of Norman, Okla., William Pittman of Corvallis, Oregon, Clinton Pittman of Phoenix, Ariz. and Harold Pittman of Stephenville; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
