"Ivan F. Bartek, 88, of Lincoln, died Thursday (3/17/11). Retired meat cutter with American Stores and also a retired farmer. World War II Army Veteran. Member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #833 and Catholic Workmen. Survivors: Sons, Emanuel (Terri) Bartek, Tom (Donita) Bartek, both of Lincoln, and Father Valerian Bartek of Trenton, Neb.; Daughters, Marilyn (Mike) Wadum of Omaha, and Jennifer (Brian) Hofmeister of Lincoln; nine grandchildren: Jason Bartek, Sheri Vesely, Angela Kardell, Christina Adkins, Megan Wadum, Adam Bartek, Yvonne Bartek, Crystal Hofmeister, and Blaine Hofmeister: 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Pope) Bartek and daughter, Gloria Bartek. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday, 3/21/11 at St, John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7601 Vine Street. Celebrant: Father Valerian Bartek. Graveside Services: 12:30 p.m., Monday at St. John's Cemetery, Weston. Rosary 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Visitation after 9 a.m., Saturday at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bishop Neumann High School, St. John's Nepomuc Church/School in Weston or St. John the Apostle Church/School in Lincoln.
