Waxahachie Daily Light; Jan 13, 1939 Mrs. Rebecca Herrin, 70, widow of the late Rev. L. A. Herrin, died suddenly Thursday at her home, 1010 Ferris Avenue. Funeral services will be held at the Farley Street Baptist Church Saturday with the Rev. Hollis B. Carpenter, pastor, and the Rev. L. S. Ballard of Dallas officiating. Burial will be made in Bardwell Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Baptist ministers present at the service. Mrs. Herrin, nee Sarah Elizabeth Rebecca Lovil, was born on Aug, 26, 1868, in Eteuah County, AL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lovil. She had lived in Ellis County for the past 42 years. Mrs. Herrin was a member of the Baptist Church at Dalton. She is survived by six children, Albert Herrin, Overton; Charles Herrin, Beaumont; Otis Herrin, Waco; Mrs. Lula Venable, Houston; Mrs. Jewel Kelton, and Mrs. Bertha Green, both of Dallas, and five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. L. L. Barker, Valonia, Ark.; a brother, Joe L. Lovil, Locksburg, Ark; half-brothers, Jack Lovil and Charles Lovil, both of Locksburg, Ark.; and Orlen Lovil, Beckville, TX; a half-sister, Mrs. Lettie Graves, Locksburg, Ark.; and a step-mother, Mrs. Letha Lovil, Locksburg, Ark.
