Bio

Isaac Hanes was the son of William and Clarissa (Telford) Hanes. Isaac married (1) Mariah Dye on August 16, 1855 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana (Divorced 1865) and (2) Mary Ann Sparks on March 8, 1866 in Clinton County, Indiana. Isaac and Mariah had 4 children-John Robinson Hanes, Diana Frances (Hanes) Chauncey Reed, Orlando Hanes and Leander Hanes (Leander was born after his parents divorced and both parents had remarried. Leander's death record states his father was "Isic Hanes" and his mother was "Marria Dye".) Isaac and Mary Ann had 6 children-Joseph Edgar Hanes (died 18 months), Mary "Maggie" Minerva (Hanes) Hannah, Thomas Hanes (died age 3 months), Infant Hanes (died age 3 days), Allen Hanes and William Franklin Hanes (died 6 weeks). Isaac's military headstone application in 1929 (by his son, Allen) states Isaac died November 10, 1918. Missouri death records state Isaac died November 9, 1918 and was buried November 11, 1918.
