Allen Hanes was the son of Isaac and Mary Ann (Sparks) Hanes. Allen married Pearley Jane Smith on October 12, 1898 in Champaign County, Illinois. Allen and Pearley had two sons, Alva Allen Hanes and Elmer Ervin Hanes and one daughter, Alta Rena Hanes (died age 3).
