Rose A. Whisman, 88, of Lincoln, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011. Diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer in October. Rose was a loving and caring person. Attended country school and graduated from Wahoo High School. She moved to Lincoln from Joplin, Mo. in 1975 after the death of her loving husband Bill. Rose worked for First Federal Lincoln for 13 years and retired in 1988. Her favorite charity was the Pink Sisters. Rose is survived by sister, Margie Schultz. Although, Rose and Bill had no children of their own, she had a wonderful family, which included nieces, Bernice (J.Gordon) Hegel, Karen (James) Mulkerrin, Lori (Doug) Lada; nephews, Alden (Marcella) Sabatka, Richard Ward, and Bud Svoboda; several cousins; numerous great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Marlin (Bill) Whisman; parents; brothers, Ed, George, and Joe Svoboda; sister, Antoinette Sabatka, and Lillian McKee; nieces, Sharon Svoboda, and Delores Lindcren. Funeral service: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 So. 14th Street, Lincoln. Visitation Saturday 1 hour prior to service, rosary one half hour prior at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment immediately following at Lincoln Memorial Park.
