Oscar Carl Schroer, 94, of Seymour, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Stuckwisch officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel in Seymour and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Schroer is survived by his wife, Mildred Wischmeier Schroer; children, Diana Surenkamp, Ellen (Robert) Smallwood and Stanley Schroer; one grandson; one stepgranddaughter; one great-grandchild; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. The Republic, news paper, Columbus, Indiana 14 Dec 2011 Oscar Carl Schroer, 94, Seymour, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mr. Schroer was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was retired from Central Pharmaceutical which later became Schwarz Pharma. Born Oct. 23, 1917, in Jackson County, he was the son of August and Minnie Steinkamp Schroer, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 7, 1941, he married Mildred Wischmeier who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Diana Surenkamp, Ellen (Robert) Smallwood and Stanley Schroer; grandson, Nicolas (Megan) Smallwood; stepgranddaughter, Kimberly Felix; great-grandchild, Austin Ryan Smallwood; stepgreat-grandchildren, Sean Mitchell "Mitch" Riley and Natalie Riley; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lena Kloeker and Selma Schepman and brothers, Louis, Alvin and Willard Schroer. The Rev. Jeffrey Stuckwisch will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel, Seymour and from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
