Reginold Douglas "Tex" New Mr. New passed away on August 15, 2004 at Mt. Diablo Medical Center in Concord at the age of 78. Native of Quitman, TX, born February 17, 1926, he's been a resident of Pittsburg for 58 years. Tex was a steelworker, 37 years, retiring in 1984. He was a US Marine Corp. Vet. in Iwo Jima, received Purple Heart, member of the Steelworkers Union Local #1440. Enjoyed his children, grandchildren and trips to Reno. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Ina M. "Polly" New, daughters, Cheryl New, Cathy Bourgeois and husband Rick, and Donna Quesada, son, Joel New, sister, Faye New, 4 grandchildren, Jose & Lynsey Quesada and Simone & Marie Bourgeois, and 3 great-grandchildren.
