Son of: William Austin & Jenny (Spaulding) Austin Husband of: Jennie Mae (Simpson) Austin From the newspaper "North Vernon Sun", Vernon, Jennings Co., Indiana, Clyde Austin dies on Tuesday Clyde Austin, 74, North Vernon, died Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at his residence after a long illness. Mr. Austin was born July 24, 1904, in Jennings county, the son of Will and Jenny Spaulding Austin. He was married to Jenny Simmons, who survives. Austin was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and choir member and the North Vernon Lions Club. He was a former employee of the Miller Lumber and Dunlap's and was also a self- employed carpenter. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Coates officiating. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call at Dove Funeral home after 4:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Survivng with his wife are eight nieces and nephews.
