North Vernon Sun North Vernon, Indiana October 8, 1998 Jennie Mae Hanna, 92, of North Vernon, died at 7:23 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Community Care Center at Seymour. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. to service time. A native of Jennings County, Mrs. Hanna was born March 8, 1906, daughter of John O. and Lillie Mae Geisel Simpson. She was first married to Clyde Austin. He preceded her in death June 19, 1979. She married William J. Hanna Sept. 30, 1981. He died Oct. 13, 1993. For many years, Mrs. Austin was employed at American Central Life Insurance Company in Indianapolis. She also worked for several restaurants in North Vernon. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of North Vernon, where she was active in the Women's Missionary Society and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Jennings Community Hospital Guild and a former member of the Monday Musicale and the North Vernon Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are her stepson, Joe W. Hanna of Sandy, Utah; a brother, George Simpson of Bakersfield, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Clark and John Simpson; and three sisters, Emma Heideman, Ann Schauers and Carrie Ross. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Presbyterian Church, American Cancer Society or Hospice of Jennings County. Gladstone AVe., became the bride of Lowell Clyde Austin, son of William S Austin, North Vernon, at 8 Wednesday evening at the Garfield Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Clyde Black, Bedford, officiating. Miss Benetta Hitz, organist, played and Harold Brady sang. Miss Ann Simpson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, wearing yellow chiffon taffeta robe de style. Miss Jerry Summers, bridesmaid, wore yellow taffeta. Patricia Jean Delks was flower girl. Richard Moore was best man, and ushers were Charles Walter and Toby Brocker. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, John L. Simpson, wore a white taffeta robe de style, trimmed with ruffles of tulle. Her tulle veil was caught cap shape with clusters of valley lilies. She carried a shower bouquet of butterfly roses. A reception was held at the home of the bride's mother following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Austin have gone on a motor trip, the bride traveling in a brown and tan ensemble. They will be at home after Oct. 20 at 338 N. Colorado St. Out-of-town guests included Miss Lillian Hess, Huntington, and Miss Esther Mills, Zionsville.
