Funeral services for Malcolm Beno Herttenberger will be held at the Church of Christ in Rule with John Greeson and Steve Ridgell officiating. Mr. Herttenberger married Maxine Casey on 21 April 1946 at the Church of Christ in Rule. He has lived most of his life in Rule. Malcolm served 3 years in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII. He was wounded twice in Okinawa during the war and was later awarded The Purple Heart for his bravery and dedication to his country. He took great pride in serving. After his return home, Malcolm worked several years in the grocery business and was also a rural mail carrier. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Maxine; a son; two granddaughters; two brothers, Jerry Herttenberger and Don Herttenberger; one sister, Helen Simmons. He is preceded in death by his parents, Beno and Ola Herttenberger; a son, Barry Beno Herttenberger; and 2 brothers, Roy and Jean Herttenberger.
