Bio
Irene J. Hines, age 85, of Morse Bluff, NE, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Fremont Area Medical Center. She was born March 27, 1926 in rural Bruno, NE to James and Stella (Hanis) Slosser. She grew up on the family farm near Bruno and attended rural school near Abie, NE and then graduated from Prague High School in 1944. She worked at the Nebraska Ordnance Plant in Mead during WWII. She married Edward J. "Bud" Hines February 23, 1946 in Little Rock, AK where Bud was serving in the Army. After his discharge in 1947 they settled at Morse Bluff where they farmed. Irene was a member of St. George Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Morse Bluff. Survivors include: husband – Edward J. "Bud"; sons – Ron Hines of Morse Bluff, NE and Keith Hines of Fremont, NE; sisters – Stella Mihulka of Omaha, NE and Sally and husband Gene Bartunek of David City, NE; 3 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: parents; brother – Jim Slosser; and an infant son, Kenneth. Visitation will be 3-8 P.M., Monday, December 5, 2011 at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. A Private Funeral Service will be held Tuesday with Father Jeremy Hazuka officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to St. George Catholic Church. Moser Memorial Chapel, North Bend will be in charge of arrangements. (402) 721-4490
