Bio
Lillian J. Trosper, 89, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Memorial Community Care Center in Aurora. Lillian was born June 17, 1922, in Nance County to August and Anna J. (Neemeyer) Belitz. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Dean A. Trosper; and sons, Dennis and Larry Trosper. Survivors are: daughters and son-in-law, Juanita Upson of Lakewood, Colo., Sylvia and Mel Russell of Marquette; sons and daughters-in- law, Terry and Glenna Trosper of Ankeny, Iowa, Andy and Marsha Trosper of Bloomingdale, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Norma Trosper of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Janet Belitz of Central City; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Lillian received her education in the Fullerton area. She was united in marriage to Dean Arthur Trosper on Sept. 10, 1950, in Fullerton. The couple made their home in Fullerton and then Central City. Dean preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1977. Lillian moved to Grand Island following Dean's death, where she was involved with the Foster Grandparent Program as a Teachers Assistant and Volunteer. Lillian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Evening Guild ladies member. She enjoyed her garden, flowers and music. A great deal of her time was spent volunteering with the little students at school. Lillian was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Dan Upson; brothers and sister-in-law, Elmer and Lois Belitz and Ronald Belitz; and grandson, Toby Trosper. Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery, Fullerton, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on December 7, 2011
