****************************************** Leone L. Spielman, 94, Plymouth, died Monday evening, May 17, 2004, at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. She was born Feb. 18, 1910, at rural Litchfield, and grew up in the Litchfield area. She graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1926. She was married to Troy Jones on April 9, 1932, at Kearney. They lived in Colorado, Wyoming and at Shickley, Neb. After his death in 1949, she moved to Ohiowa, Neb., and took a job as chief operator for the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company in Ohiowa, a position she held for almost eight years. She worked as a cook in several area cafes, including the Steakhouse and Rainbow Inn, both at Plymouth, and the Tri County Schools. She also worked at Grandma's Fruitcake Company in Beatrice. She was married to Rudolph Spielman on Oct. 27, 1956, in Ohiowa, and they lived near Western and Plymouth, before moving to Plymouth in 1985. As a child, she attended the Church of the Brethren, and was currently a member of Peace United Methodist Church, Plymouth, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School in various churches she attended, enjoyed gardening, crafting and reading. She had moved to Heritage Care Center in Fairbury in 2001. Survivors: daughters, Myrna Spilker and husband Glen of Plymouth, and Carol Kapperman and husband Ronald of Ohiowa; nine grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Enid Lucas of Mason City, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Audrey Royle of Mason City, Dorothea Doetker and husband Clarence of Beatrice; brother-in-law, Herman Spielman and wife Naomi of Beatrice; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred C. and Catherine (Fread) Royle; her first husband, Troy; second husband, Rudolph (Aug. 1, 1999); brother, C.A. Royle; sisters, Nellie Dennis and Dayle Cherry. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21, Peace United Methodist Church, Plymouth, the Rev. Glen Holtz officiating. Family prayer service: 10 a.m. at the church. Burial: Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth. A memorial has been established to the Peace United Methodist Church with Fox Funeral Home in charge. The body will lie in state at Fox Funeral Home, 116 N. Jefferson Ave. in Plymouth until 9 p.m. Thursday. The casket will be closed at the church on Friday.
