Military History - WWII - Navy FORT WORTH -- Mickey A.J. Switzer, 76, retired, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at a local hospital. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Memorial Chapel. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mickey A.J. Switzer was born May 8, 1923, in Franklin, Iowa. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mickie Sue, in 1990. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed. Survivors: Wife of 53 years, Ruth Switzer of Fort Worth; sons, Elliott Wayne Switzer and his wife, Charlotte Ann of Joshua and Alan Jay Switzer and his wife, Joyce Elaine, of Fort Worth; daughters, Karen Renee White and her husband, Eddie, of Fort Worth and Sharone Mae Kerce of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
