Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 2, 2003 Shamrock - Elmo Ellison, died Monday, Dec 1, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Lowe, pastor, and Joe G. Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Spring Creek Cemetery in Spring Creek, OK, by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Ellison worked 35 years for United Carbon Co., of Shamrock, which later became Ashland Chemical, with whom he retired. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Shamrock. Survivors include his wife, Dorotha, four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was born 4 Jun 1916 Beckham County, Oklahoma and died 1 Dec 2003 Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas. Buried: Spring Creek Cemetery, Beckham County, Oklahoma. (This cemetery is not in Spring Creek, Oklahoma but is 11 south of Sayre on highway 283 in Beckham County, Okla, 1 1/2 miles east across from Spring Creek Baptist Church. (The obit says Spring Creeek, Okla. which is a little confusing. )
