Bio

Graveside services for O.P. Ellis, 95, of Jacksonville, Fla., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the City of Lubbock Cemetery with Horace Coffman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. He died Sunday, March 5, 2000, in Jacksonville. He was born March 19, 1904, in Bell County. He married Ethel Owens. She died Feb. 9, 1947. He married Mildred Holt in 1948 in Lubbock. She died April 15, 1996. He owned and operated Southern Auto Store until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Broadway Church of Christ. He moved to Jacksonville in October 1999. A daughter, Coronal Elizabeth Barloco, died March 31, 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Ellis Schnabel of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
