Bio

Services for Marie Sanders, 83, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Southcrest Baptist Church with David Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. She died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center. She was born May 26, 1916, in Chillicothe. She attended school in Silverton and attended college in Vernon where she studied watchmaking. She was a watchmaker for Thomas Jewelry for numerous years. She was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Diane Neighbors of Shallowater; two brothers, Leon Pharr of Kingsland and G.W. Pharr of Lubbock; two sisters, Wilma Turner of Bokchito, Okla., and Grace T. Schell of Ukiah, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
