PINE BLUFF COMMERCIAL, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18, 1997 STAR CITY-- Chester Bush McGriff, 93, of Star City, died December 17, 1997, at Gardner Nursing Home. Born December 3, 1904, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Robert Monroe McGriff and Mary Bush McGriff. He was a self-employed timber farmer and a member of Lone Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Monroe McGriff, and a sister, Ollie McGriff McRae. Survivors include his wife, Gracie Delorse Williams McGriff; two daughters, Shirley Jean Finley and Anita Threlkeld, both of Star City; four brothers, Clyde McGriff, Calvin McGriff, Arthur McGriff and Buddy McGriff, all of Star City; five sisters, Emogene McGriff Reynolds and Eva McGriff Cogbill, both of Pine Bluff, and Irene McGriff Nowlin, Edna Pierce Nutt and Beatrice McGriff, all of Star City; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Griffin Funeral Service chapel at Star City with the Rev. Wayne Newton officiating. Burial will be in Drake Cemetery.
