Joy McGee McDonald 1924-2004 Funeral for Joy McGee McDonald, 80, of Alvord was Friday, May 14, at the Alvord Church of Christ. The Revs. C.E. "Sonny" Cole and Ed Cate officiated. Burial followed at Alvord Cemetery. McDonald died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, in Alvord. Born Feb. 25, 1924, in Park Springs, she was a homemaker. She married Robert L. McDonald on Sept. 24, 1944, in Bowie. She was a member of the Alvord Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school. McDonald was a seamstress at Howard Wolfe dress factory in Bowie and Lorch-Westway Manufacturing in Decatur. She retired to be a caregiver for the elderly. She and her husband were two of the founding members of the Wise County Antique Auto Club and were involved for many years. She was an avid quilter, seamstress and loved to crochet, often making booties for babies born in the Alvord area. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Mike McDonald and wife, Glenice, of Krum, Dan McDonald and wife, Rose Ann, of Hurst and Randy McDonald and wife, Irene, of Alvord; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
